Abstract

In modern conditions, associated with the increasing role of digital technologies both in society as a whole and in the system of higher education in particular, the functions and roles of the teacher in the educational process are changing. The participants in this process are both teachers and students, and therefore, in order to study the status-role characteristics of a higher school teacher, it is necessary to take into account the opinions of both sides. With the help of the author's research by surveying students (n=1372) and faculty (n=419) of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, both contradictions and general ideas about the status and role of a university teacher in the context of digitalization of education were identified
