Abstract
The purpose of the study is to analyze the student youth in the totality of socio-demographic characteristics for the formation of a socio-demographic portrait. The materials for the study are the results of a sociological study conducted in the 2021-2022 academic year among students of leading universities of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Based on the results of the study, a socio-demographic portrait of the modern student youth of the universities of the Republic of Bashkortostan was formed, containing gender and age characteristics, their marital and family characteristics, characteristics of their level of financial status and employment. It was found that the socio-demographic portrait of the average student of the University of the Republic of Bashkortostan looks as follows: this is a young man or girl aged 18-23 years, unmarried, studying for a bachelor's degree, living in families of average income with both working parents and two children (including him/her), while every second student has a paid job. The obtained research results can be taken into account when developing mechanisms to support students to improve their social status and well-being in society.
