Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the current state of the youth of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic and the problems of socio-economic, political, ideological and ethno-cultural nature that it faces in everyday reality; The strategies and programs of regional youth policy, as well as the role of universities in the socialization of young people, are considered. The authors come to the conclusion that in the presence of a number of key problems that have a pronounced "youth" sound, multiplied by the regional specifics of the North Caucasus in general and Kabardino-Balkaria, in particular (high proportion of young people; sustainable employment; income level; economic and financial non-self-sufficiency; significant external migration; the acquisition of ethno-cultural and civic identity in the presence of radical ideological challenges; socialization of rural youth and preservation of the values of traditional culture in the context of globalization), the republic has ample resource opportunities for positive socialization of young people.
