Abstract
The transformation of the modern global society affects all spheres of human life. This invariably affects the state of social health of the population. There is a loss of basic goods. This manifests itself through a decrease in the level and quality of life of the population, its individual social groups and strata; through increasing stress and conflict potential of social space; decrease in the quality of physical health of the population. In a general sense, we can talk about the threat to the social health of the population. The purpose of this article is to analyze the state and dynamics of the development of social health of the population in the era of transformations, in the regional society.
The authors proceed from the definition that the state of social health of the population is determined by the minimum level of social diseases. As a set of indicators of social health, various types of diseases and social diseases were identified as a reflection of the population's ill-being. The authors studied most of the indicators of the social health of the region's population (on the example of the Volga Federal District, in the context of its subjects).
