Abstract
The article is devoted to ways of involving the younger generation in innovative activities on the example of the participation of the Moscow Aviation Institute in the events of the Year of Science and Technology, which was held in 2021. Today, the main competitive advantage in the context of social transformations is knowledge and the ability to innovate. It is the younger generation that is most inclined to innovate. The university plays a special role in the innovative behavior of young people, stimulating the independent work of students, during which the activity and initiative of the individual are manifested, its creative potential is revealed. However, institutional conditions alone are not enough to reproduce the innovative functions of young people. It is important to correlate the efforts of higher education institutions to attract young people to innovative activities with the state policy being implemented.
