"Is the ashes of the USSR knocking on our hearts?": about the attitude of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to the USSR

Abstract

This article is devoted to the attitude of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region to the Soviet past. The conclusions are made by the authors based on the data of a sociological survey conducted at the end of April 2022 in the region. The peculiarities of the attitude of Nizhny Novgorod residents of different ages to the Soviet past, as well as to the desirability and possibility of restoration of the USSR and the socialist economy are revealed. It is indicated that the data obtained as a result of the analyzed survey differs from those that were published earlier in relation to the situation in the country as a whole
