Abstract

This article discusses the socio-group features of the modern Russian police, from the point of view of the professional community itself. A social portrait of a Russian policeman was compiled based on the methodology of E.A. Shatskaya. The professional activities of police officers were analyzed, its main components, features, risks were identified. The study confirmed that the professional activities of police officers belong to the category of complex ones. They are subject to very high demands. The fate of many people and peace in society as a whole depend on the decisions they make. Most of the police consider their profession prestigious and are ready to perform their duties regardless of the time of day and place of residence.
